Music Ministry

Immanuel Lutheran Church Preston

Celebrating 125 years of
Caring for Our Community Through Christ

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his
presence with singing! – Psalm 100:1-2

The adult choral group, known as the Senior Choir, is the core of the music ministry at Immanuel. The Choir sings a variety of styles of music, from baroque to contemporary favorites, from exuberant praises to quiet prayers. The Senior Choir has been singing with joy for over 60 years and continues to lead the congregation in worship several times a month and for special services.

The Immanuel Handbell Choir has served in worship services for over 15 years. The 3- octave, 11-member hand bell choir rings monthly and provides music for special services.

Director of Music, Lynn Short, directs both the Senior Choir and the Handbell Choir, and coordinates the music activities at Immanuel. Lynn serves as organist, playing Immanuel’s 10-rank Moller pipe organ.

Sharing music in the community, Immanuel’s carillon fills the air of Preston with hymns of praise and worship daily.
